Strengthening community based cancer screening requires strong partnerships, evidence based planning, and a shared commitment to improving public health.
Today, the Healing Health Total (2HT) team met Shri K. V. Singh Deo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, to present an overview of the ongoing implementation of the community based early screening of cancer and other NCDs, programme across Balangir and Keonjhar districts.
The discussion focused on the progress made in strengthening CBAC based community screening, improving the quality and accuracy of risk assessment, and enhancing the pathway for the early detection of cancer and other NCDs, through the primary healthcare system.
The meeting also explored opportunities to further strengthen the programme through the integration of additional data driven approaches, digital tools, and implementation strategies to improve screening quality, monitoring, and long term public health outcomes.
As Odisha continues to advance towards a stronger preventive healthcare model, collaborative efforts such as these play a vital role in expanding access to organised screening and ensuring that more individuals benefit from timely identification, appropriate referral, and early intervention.
