Strengthening community based cancer screening begins with strengthening the frontline workforce.

An orientation programme on CBAC accuracy and its role in the early detection of non communicable diseases, with a special focus on cancer, was successfully conducted at Bhainsa Sector, CHC Ghasian, Balangir District. The programme brought together 55 participants, including ASHAs, Health Workers (Female), Community Health Officers, and Supervisors, with active participation from officials of the District NCD Cell and the Healing Health Total (2HT) team.
The session included practical CBAC risk assessment demonstrations, equipping frontline health workers with the knowledge and skills required for accurate community screening. Following the orientation, CBAC implementation will commence across the sector, supported through continuous monitoring and guidance from CHOs, Health Workers, the District NCD Cell, and the 2HT team.
Together, we are building a stronger primary healthcare system where accurate screening leads to earlier detection, timely intervention, and better health outcomes.
